Policies & Procedures

Welcome to Sugar Land Gymnastics & Karate.  Please review the following policies and procedures for our gymnastics recreational program.  Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m..

Annual Membership

  • Membership fees are due at the time of enrollment, renewed annually, and are non-refundable.
  • We are a YEAR-ROUND gymnastics facility.  We do not have sessions and classes are on going until a 60-day notice form is given.  
  • Our annual membership fee is currently $75 per family and is charged at the time of  enrollment and automatically drafted from your account on file on September 1st of each subsequent year.  
  • Fees are subject to change annually.

Monthly Tuition

  • Tuition will be charged on the 1st of each month to the bank account on file. 
  • Customers must provide a voided check at the time of registration.  If this information is not provided, the child will not be allowed in the class. 
  • Another option would be to pay 6 or 12 months (5% discount) in advance. 
  • Tuition fees are based on a 47-week year and include holidays and gym closings as specified below.  
  • No refunds of tuition will be given once tuition has been drawn.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you wish to discontinue classes for any reason, you must fill out and submit our 60-day written cancellation notice to the front desk.  Notification must be received by the first of the month.  
  • During the 60-day period, you may continue to attend your regularly scheduled classes.  
  • Any verbal communication to our staff or coaches to cancel membership will not be accepted. 
  • Emailing a letter of cancellation is not valid for a cancellation.  It must be written and turned into the front office.

Holiday Schedule

Sugar Land Gymnastics & Karate will be closed for the following holidays:

  • Hoiliday Weekends (Labor Day, Memorial Day, July 4th)
  • Thanksgiving Week
  • WInter Break
  • Spring Break
  • SLG Special Events (All Star Meet, Mini Olympics, Winter Olympics)

Summer Class Schedule

  • Your regular monthly tuition fee will continue to be drafted throughout the summer months, unless a 60-day written cancellation notice has been received.  (See cancellation policy).  
  • Your child must attend their regular class each week.  If they miss class for any reason, you can schedule a make-up class.  
  • During summer months, we will offer a flexible schedule policy, which allows flexibility for students to make-up missed classes anytime their class level is offered and there is room available.  They will be able to attend the same number of classes to equal one class a week for the summer.

Make-Up Policy

  • Your child must attend class each week.  If they miss class for any reason, you will be allowed 3 make-ups.  One make-up every 3 months; one between September - November, the second one between December - February, and the last one between March - May.
  • Please understand the coaches are there to teach your children even if your child does not show up.  While SLG will do everything possible to find the perfect fit for you, it is your responsibility to schedule your class at a time that fits your schedule.  Therefore, there are no make-ups for missed make-up classes.
  • If your child misses their class/classes due to an injury, you will be rewuired to provide a release form from the doctor or incident report to return to class and to scheudle a make-up(s).  The release and/or incident report needs to state the date of the incident and when they can safely return to class.
  • You must sign-up for the make-up class at the front desk or call the office during business hours.
  • We follow Fort Bend ISD for school closures. If they close due to weather conditions, we will also be closed. 

Transfer Policy

  • You may transfer class day/times for a $20 transfer fee.  All transfers will be based on availability.  
  • If you move up levels and your level is not offered at your scheduled time, you may transfer at no charge, but must check with the front desk on class availability.  
  • All transfers must be approved at the front desk.

Dress Code

  • Girls must wear a leotard or a full piece swimsuit.  Two pieces are not allowed.  
  • Boys must wear athletic shorts and a t-shirt.  
  • No buttons or zippers allowed.  
  • No jewelry allowed unless for religous purposes.  Any religous jewelry that is worn must be tapes before entering their class.  We are not responsible for providing tape.
  • Hair must be tied back.  We do not  provide hair ties.  
  • Students must be barefooted for class. No socks allowed. 
  • No gum allowed.
  • Your child will not be allowed in class if he/she is our of dress code policy.

Gym Rules

  • Parents are not allowed in the gym and may observe classes from the viewing area.  
  • For safety and instructional purposes, observers must refrain from communicating with students while they are in class.  
  • Arriving on time or a few minutes early is highly recommended.  Arriving late to class may be a chaotic  beginning to your child’s lesson and it disrupts the other children in the group.  
  • All students must wait inside the building to be picked up after class.  
  • If you are going to be late picking up your child from his/her class for any reason, we ask that you please call the gym and let us know.  Gym phone number is (281) 240 – 0999.  There will be a late pick-up fee for parents who are more than 15 minutes late to pick-up.
  • Parents are not allowed to drop off kids more than 10 minutes before his/her class due to the fact that we are not able to supervise them.   
  • In consideration of others, parents are requested to avoid personal phone calls in the lobby area.
  • NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO RECORDING WILL BE ALLOWED DURING CLASSES.

Picture Policy

  • No photography or video recording will be allowed during class.
